One tiny step for nutritionists, one giant step back for concessions.
As I found out on Ben’s Biz Blog, the West Michigan Whitecaps decided to turn against the 69% of fans who voted for unhealthy options and went with the one healthy option for its concession stand debut this season. Nobody goes to get a Fenway Fennel or a Dodger Dill Pickle, and that showed when less than 1:3 fans voted for anything close to nutritious during the Whitecaps concession competition.
If you are from outside the Midwest League and have come to know of West Michigan Whitecaps, it is no doubt because of their giant gem of gluttony, the Fifth–Third Burger. If Chicks With Sticks makes a Man versus Food appearance… well it doesn’t mater because that publicity plug isn’t going to happen.
